"Drink Water" Essential #2

Have you been thirsty for water or juice especially while driving? The next exit, your chance to stop for something to drink, may be fifteen or twenty miles down the road. Just having to wait makes you thirstier than ever. When we drink water, we still get thirsty later.

Exodus 15:24 tells us the Israelites wanted water to drink for they were thirsty. God directed Moses about getting water for the Israelites. They were satisfied for awhile. Then Exodus 17:6 tells us again the Israelites were thirsty for more water.

St. John 4:13-14 from the KJV "Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst again; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."

I can remember at different times when I have been thirsty, and unable to get something to drink. Then I would get very thirsty. Jesus tells us in the Beatitudes "Blessed is he who thirsts after righteousness, for he will be filled." When I heard Jesus died on the cross for me and took all my sins, I chose to believe and receive Him into my heart so He would be with me all the time. I received that well of water that St. John 4:13-14 talks about and my spiritual thirst was forever quenched.

In Jesus there is Life, and the water He gives shall be a well of water springing up into Eternal Life with Him. Will you receive the living water like the woman at the well did?

"Breathing Deeply" Essential #1

Have you ever been to the doctor, and he has asked you to breath deeply? He is checking to see if there is anything wrong with your lungs. If there is something wrong with your lungs, he gives you a prescription to get rid of the problem.
Proverbs 17:22 says that if we have a merry heart it is like medicine. It helps to keep us healthy. Laughter and joy helps us to bring more oxygen into the body and then carbon dioxide is taken out of every cell in your body. This helps to ensure our lungs remain strong, and that waste is removed from our body.
God breathes on us:
St. John 16:8 says that the Holy Spirit breathes on us by letting us know there is something we need to change in our lives.
Proverbs 17:22 says a broken spirit dries up our bones, and that will affect our health.
I wrote an essay for a contest while I was working in the library. The contest was open to anyone. I saw the winners of the contest, and I noticed they were all librarians except maybe a professor. I was angry for I really believed that my essay was just as good as the winners. I decided to send them an email expressing my thoughts. I showed this email to a librarian who was in my unit. She told me it was good to express my feelings, but she showed me to how to write and express myself in a good way. The Holy Spirit showed me through this person how to get rid of the anger and to forgive them. I could feel the difference in my body after the anger was gone.
